pediatric kids
Pediatric services differ slightly from adult dentistry — treating children’s oral health requires a specialized understanding of pediatric teeth and development. Additionally, we understand that in most cases, there is a difference in how to engage with children as patients, especially when they find themselves receiving dental services, which may be unfamiliar to them.

At Gregorich & Matack, we are dedicated to teaching children how to maintain good dental hygiene and to help them become comfortable with regular trips to the dentist. We provide children with the same high-quality and personalized care that you receive as an adult. Kids can even watch their favorite cartoon to stay at ease while our dentists look at their smile. We want to make sure that your entire family’s smiles are healthy and happy!

Advantages

Long-term benefits can showcase themselves when parents/guardians play an active part in bringing their children into the dentist. When we make a meaningful connection with your child, we hope to help build the foundation for a lifetime of healthy dental practices. Your child will learn how to care for their teeth, practice sound dental hygiene, and even embrace regular visits to the dentist.

Frequently Asked Pediatric Services Questions

If you have a positive outlook, chances are that your child will as well! If you dread going to the dentist, your child will likely pick up that same attitude.

We don’t want anyone, regardless of age, to dread going to the dentist! That’s why we make our environment as relaxing as possible.

We typically recommend having a check-up every six months, though this can greatly vary depending upon your child’s needs. More frequent visits may be necessary if oral issues or concerns have been identified early on.

Baby teeth play a very important role in helping your child speak, smile and chew properly. Baby teeth also serve as a “placeholder” for permanent teeth — if baby teeth are lost too early, teeth nearby can shift, causing overcrowding and other problems down the line.

We help showcase that brushing can be fun! We’re glad to help your child discover the importance of healthy teeth. Additionally, we educate parents and children about proper brushing and flossing techniques.

Typically, the first tooth = the first dental visit. We recommend that your child’s first visit should be six months after his or her first tooth erupts or by one year of age, whichever is first.
